Increasing Your Ram.

One of the prime reasons for your laptop running slow is that your ram is not being used efficiently. What happens is that various programs use your system’s ram in different ways. Many times there are conflicts that arise especially if two programs are using identical files. Also when the ram seems too exhausted, programs make use of what is called windows page file, which is like ram on your hard disk.
Since your hard disk is slower than a ram module it’s one of the main causes for your laptop running slow.

There are a variety of programs on the market which you can use to defragment your hard disk.
Defragmenting your hard disk only takes a few minutes but it makes a noticeable difference to your system’s performance.

Managing your system’s resources.

In order for your laptop to function to its full potential it needs to make proper use of its resources. Many times system resources are wasted because programs can cause both the hard disk and the RAM to become fragmented. Your systems page file can also become fragmented.

A good place to start would be to run windows own defragment program.

This program will first scan your hard disk for fragments and present you with a fragment report. Based on that report you can decide whether or not your hard disk is fragmented and then run a defragmenter accordingly.

Laptop running slow on start-ups.
